  • What modern & past heavyweight Boxer would be able to beat an prime Mike Tyson ?

Mike Tyson in his prime looked nearly impossible to beat. Mike was extremely athletic with extremely fast hands fast reflexes alot of punching power and quick on his feet and he also was highly skilled he demonstrated great hand placement and good footwork and good head movement.I can't think of more than 4 modern and past heavyweight boxers who would defeat the 1987-1990 Mike Tyson. Who do yall think would be capable to beat a prime Mike Tyson ?

Liston. Liston never cut the ring down. He prefered, like Pacman, to come in fast off the main fighting line. He was incredibly adept at judging distance, and did not let a fighter off the hook when hurt. Tyson has fast feet and great head movement, but I believe Liston would catch him coming in with his pole ax of a jab. There are others Mike would lose to, but Liston to me, is the most obvious front runner. I mean Lewis could catch him, but Lewis could also be caught...

Lots. Lewis, foreman, the k’s too. Evander obviously. Tyson has a punchers chance against anyone but his best win is probably Holmes or spinks. Other than that his wins are fairly thin. He lost twice to evander, never fought Bowe. In fact I think he was very very carefully matched after he came out of prison.

Tyson’s speed and aggression would be a nightmare for most, but if someone could survive the early rounds, they’d have a chance.

Most of your comments, while thoughtful, are not talking about a "prime" Tyson. Many boxing people feel that as good as Holly was, a prime Tyson would have beat him. I do not see any scenario where either Klit brother could beat Mike, but we can agree to disagree on that one. Pressed to the wall? i would give Vitalie a better chance than his huggie brother. Sanders caught Vlad and changed his life, making him have to adapt measures... can one imagine if Tyson caught him? Prime Tyson? Sanders also buckled Vitalie (watch the first round closely), again, if Tyson caught him?

I agree about his record being thin and that he was carefully matched after prison, but this was not his prime.

Prime Iron Mike slaughters all the past heavies, the only guys that beat him legitimately (not by skill but size) are the modern Super Heavies, the big boys that weigh 250+ lbs and are over 6ft5in in height, ex Lewis, K Bros etc...

Deontay Wilder could pose a real threat with his knockout power.
