It looked like Lara had figured Garcia out. It was going to be all downhill for Danny after that knock down. TBH I feel like Lara could have done that way earlier in the fight

You are right. Danny looked so uncomfortable and anxious in there as if he wanted to quit sooner but Lara played it safe.

He thought it was all a ploy by Garcia to draw him into a fire fight. However, by round five; It was apparent to almost anyone watching that Danny no longer wanted the smoke from Lara.

He was ready to tap out and give up then. However, Erislandy was unaware of it at the time.

He was very good fighter at 140. Crawford actually took the belts Danny threw to the garbage.

He was still solid at 147. But he never had any business fighting at 154 or even 160.

Don't even know what's in Garcia's mind calling out for the Lara fight. The Cuban is the ultimate hit and run opponent. He's not Matthysse who would stay in your face throughout the entire fight. Fans have to have patience watching Lara fight. He jumps backward with any slightest movement of his opponent. It's impossible to reach him. He doesn't engage to give you the fight you want. Lucky for him he gets his yearly pension doing the same boring thing over and over again. Makes his wife happy.

That’s very true. However, he has had some very fun and memorable fights though like: The ones with Alfredo Angulo when he was dropped twice and Jarrett Hurd which was a fight of the year candidate.

Lara was right in front of him and was dog walking him. Lara has actually been standing in front of his opponents and sitting on his punches a lot more the past few years. The hell you talking about?

Garcia lost every round. Boxed like he didn’t have a heartbeat. All Lara had to do was keep it simple by moving and shooting straight punches from the outside. It was easy.

Castano was 5 years ago. Hurd was 6 years ago. Angulo was 11 years ago. Williams was 13 years ago.

Lara is 41 years old and has not been in the ring with a credible opponent in five years. He should have blown Garcia out of there, he's a blown up welterweight.

No he shouldn't have, he did what he needed to do, and the years past has nothing to do with the dancing partner. He has never been a seek and destroy boxer, but will return fire with fire if needed.

Danny was for all intents and purposes coming out of retirement for the Lara fight. If he feels the need to do it officially now that's fine , but nobody has considered Garcia an active fighter in a minute.

Yes, that’s right. I nearly forgot those fights. The fact is Erislandy Lara is a legend in his own right. No opponent has ever been able to dominate or defeat him decisively. All of his losses have been razor thin close.

I mean for example: Every loss he has ever had have all been questionable and controversial. Many boxing fans believed he won both the Paul Williams fight, the Saul Canelo Alvarez fight and also the Jarrett Hurd fight.

Even his Draw with Brian Castano was also controversial. As many boxing fans believed he won that fight too.
