It's strange that Lara and Garcia fight to a contractually agreed upon weight that's 3 pounds below the maximum weight for the division.

They shouldn't have that. It's the middleweight title, fight at what the rules allow.

Presumably DG insisted on that &, if Lara, as champion, agrees then so be it. Lara is probably going to make better money fighting DG than he would fighting another contender & probably faces less risk so it is a fairly easy equation to solve.
