Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol insists showdown with Artur Beterbiev 'is not personal'

Dmitry Bivol has had to be patient, but the WBA light heavyweight champion is allowing himself to begin counting down the days until he gets his long-awaited shot at fulfilling his lifelong dream. On October 12th, Bivol will fight WBC, IBF and WBO champion, Artur Beterbiev, for the undisputed title.

Bivol would like to finish the job with Artur and then take Benavidez to school and be the "daddy" of three mexican fighters.

Just as I thought Canelo would be beaten soundly by Bivol I believe Beterbiev will meet out the same fate.

It also didn't help Beterbiev left DAZN when both of them had just fought within a month or two of each other making it the perfect time to unify.

Instead he choose to head to TR and consistently allowed Bob Arum to not only shít on Bivol and the fight but imply no one really wants to see it which couldn't be further from the truth.

IMO him allowing that to happen indicates to me that he's not too confident of the match up despite his record and peoples opinion of him being some ruthless killer in the ring.

And his injury proneness in his biggest fights make me question him and the legitimacy of his record altogether for obvious reasons.

What's so obvious about it and how does it make his record illegitimate?

LOL, I thought the implication was pretty self evident tbh, it's been spoken about enough on these and many other forums/social media etc etc.

He's cycling and is being advised if he goes ahead with the projected date of his more prominent/dangerous opponents he'll be caught mid cycle.

So make up some injury that doesn't take too long off your career and in turn require proof of the aforementioned "injury" from the sanctioning bodies and others.

And truth be told I don't think I need to explain why that would call into question his record, unless you're ret@rded.

Right. Completely makes sense to keep pushing back fights, even though you're already older, thus increasing the probability of injuries. He arguably has the most grueling training regimen in boxing. Doesn't surprise me to have injuries happen.

I forgot Beterbiev was once with DAZN. If true, then it's Artur who avoided the fight all these years.

Yes they just happen every single time he has a meaningful fight right!?

Not a coincidence or anything that is it? never seems to happen when he fights someone no one has heard of.

Also meniscus tear he is "claiming" is often treated with you guessed it steroids so if he ever got caught with steroids in his system during the Bivol camp he could claim it was part of his recovery...

Despite us having clear indications of younger fighters like Sergio Martinez career getting completely finished by a meniscus tear.

We're to believe an older man is not only going to recover but recover in a matter of weeks and head into camp for 8-12 weeks for an October date.

When a meniscus tear can take up to 9 months and you're in crutches for the first 6-8 weeks and lets not forget they announced his injury in May...
