Getting beat by someone who is naturally that much bigger isn't being exposed. I don't know if I'd personally consider guys that Floyd fought that much bigger naturally. He started at 130 at 19 years old and moved up as he continued growing. Inoue is already 31 years old, so the odds of him continuing to keep moving up that much higher aren't as likely. And Pac is of course a one off in terms of how much he moved up but he's also naturally bigger than Inoue is as well.

Why ask of a man much more of what he is. Sven Ottke stayed in his weight class all his career and he is considered the greatest in Germany.
Leave Inoue be. He's exceptionally good. He don't need to climb weight classes.Comment

I am a fan and love watching Inoue. I am referring to the conversation putting him with Floyd and Pac as far as going through another few weight classes. Inoue's power may carry better than I think. My point was that he has freakish power in classes where the other guys don't.
Futlon felt the power and it was over. He ran. Nothing else he could do. Inoue's power changes good fighters. I do see Inoue alot like Biev in that aspect. Biev just likely isn't moving up at 41. And Biev fights other guys with huge power consistently.

I like Inoue. That said, he doesn't display absurd skills like Pac did. He isn't the best fighter I've ever seen. He is just uncanny in terms of his power advantage at the lightweights. He hits so much harder that he changes these guys, they are very good fighters who aren't used to getting hit by a wrecking ball with every shot. Inoue is a tough mother who just hits harder than everyone he fights.
Which is a damn great feature to have. But as far as the "great movers" thing, Floyd is far better technically. Pac is alot more special skill wise.
I could see Inoue stopping before long. His huge power advantage eventually will dissipate if he keeps moving up, he is 31 and guys will beat him, because his power is THE factor in his career.
Only time will tell.Comment

Oh no, not at all. Inoue is a good boxer. Wilder a joke. And also, Wilder beat 95% cans. Inoue has beaten damn good fighters obviously.

How good is Inoue? If we all agree that Inoue, Usyk and Crawford are the top three p4p fighters in the world today (in whichever order you like), I enjoy watching his fights the most. It is simply electric. Even Bob Arum, who is 92 years old and has seen everything, including Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, says that Inoue is the best fighter he has ever seen. I don't know if he is the best because, let's face it, it is impossible to compare these things objectively, but the only time I remember being excited before each fight over the last 60 years of watching boxing is when I was watching young Mike Tyson in his prime and Pacman in his prime. So to me he is one of the three most exciting fighters I have ever seen in 60 years.Last edited by BrankoB; 09-08-2024, 02:35 PM.Comment

But no, I won't put him among the all time greats unless he achieves it. Maybe he will? I will say it is strange how we all have to say Inoue is in the greatest all time discussion when he hasn't earned it. Calm down. Sheesh.Comment
