And boxing fans wonder why Canelo is making good payday fights for himself, why super fights take time and money to come into fruition , et., etc., : because FANS don’t appreciate our fighters enough and the criticism is sometimes unwarranted or unnecessary. ‍♂️.

Monster apparently punched his spine out through his stomach, from what he said in his corner. Guy couldn't even walk out of the ring on his own power. I've had my spine go out in sparring once before on a freak accident, and it dropped me like a marionette with the strings cut. Dunno if he quit or not, but from what he said, there's at least a non zero possibility that Inoue just literally beat his back out.

Boxing fans are the absolute worst. Guys who have never even been in a fist fight call World Champions BUMS , like it's nothing to spend a lifetime training and grinding to come through the amateurs , turn professional, and achieve something that only a tiny percentage of fighters ever do. It was obvious that Doheny could hardly walk , and was in a lot of pain , yet people call him a quitter and question his courage. Like it's nothing to even get in the ring against another fighter in front of the whole world , nevermind a great fighter like Inoue.

I read in an article that he got hit on a nerve and his leg went dead . It was pretty obvious that the guy was in significant pain and wouldn't have been able to defend himself. I don't expect him to be superhuman, or die for my entertainment. I don't think less of the guy for not continuing. He did what he could against a truly great fighter. It was cool of Inoue to send him into retirement with a nice payday.

Looked like Doheny's had an eye-jammmy on his left eye before the fight even started.

You know what my favorite saying is when someone calls a world-class fighter a bum? I tell them if a man has through hard years of work made it to the TOP 2% at what they do for a living, what does that make the criticizer who is probably not in the the top 5,000 list in the world at what they do for a living? It make the criticizer far worse than a bum using their own words against them. No one will ever hear a boxing commentator or analyst or a manager or any boxing insider or a fan with any class call a fighter a bum. Any boxing fan who does that is both childish and an idiot.

Shlt , I want a knockout too , but like Mick Jagger sang , " You can't always get what you want ". The KO was just around the corner too. It was an unsatisfying ending but the dude had a legitimate reason not to continue.
