Comments Thread For: Is Danny Garcia's Hall of Fame case on the line versus Erislandy Lara?

If it was hooked only to that five-fight stretch of more than a decade ago, the case for Danny Garcia to be placed in the International Boxing Hall of Fame would be sound.

If Kostya Tsyzu is in the HOF, why shouldn't Danny Garcia be a member? Whether he wins or loses against Lara, he should be invited into the Hall.

No because he was average and doesn't belong in the hall of fame for knocking out Khan

Lara is the one that is the Hall of Famer. No one is talking about the fact that Lara could easily be undefeated if it weren’t for some bad decisions. Facts!!!

Garcia is a very good fighter (B+) for sure. He had some great wins, no doubt. However, he is not a champion who defended his title several times. Like I said previously, Pacquaio, Mayweather Jr, Leonard, Lewis, Holyfield, Holmes, Ali, etc are hall of fame fighters. They were in epic fights during their careers. Crawford is a future hall of fame fighter. Garcia is a notch or two below the hall of fame. Whoever wrote this article needs to stop promoting this slander. The bar to make the boxing hall of fame should be set high and not just have anyone get in these days.

I agree 100% , unf, it's too late now. The gates been open and the horse has left the barn. Danny was a very good fighter by current standards I guess that he gets in. IMO , the standards should be higher , only real greatness should be enshrined in the HOF. Screw it , they might as well let everyone in, the turd is already in the punch bowl.

Is he a hall of famer by legit hall of fame standards? No. Does have a chance to get in with guys like Gatti, Hamed, Hatton and Bradley in? Yep

Hall of pretty good? Sure. HOF? No way, no signature wins, every time he stepped up, even against B class fighters, he lost. Cherry picking a title against a man 8 years past his prime is exactly what has done his entire career. Never at any point was he a top 8 PFP fighter, never, but now is he is a HOF? LOL give me a break.
