  • Comments Thread For: 'Canelo' Alvarez takes competing MMA card on September 14 as a challenge

Beyond the literal fight that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has to take on inside the T-Mobile Arena ring against Edgar Berlanga on Sept. 14, Alvarez has found his drawing power in battle against the UFC and its backers.

Decoded: You know, competition is good, just not in the ring. I see ticket sales as a challenge because I hand picked my opponent and he will take what I give him. I’m just doing my best to avoid dangerous Mexicans and if nobody notices they'll keep supporting me.......

I'm not saying they are the same person but, has anyone ever seen Canelo and Jake Paul in the same room, at the same time?

I don't think that there's a huge overlap of fans , there are boxing fans , and there are UFC fans. They're not the same people for the most part. I could be wrong , I'm just basing it on the people that I know. I'll watch UFC sometimes , but not if boxing is on.

With this insanely stacked card, who could possibly want to miss it...

Joke fight so why not make it up against a real fight. Alvarez is done fighting anyone good. Hasn't knocked out anyone good in a long long time.

Typical Canelo fight, if its a guarantee victory, he'll gladly do it- why are people ****** enough to pay to see this dude- Canelo should get out of the game already, so we can see some real fights instead of everybody chasing the golden goose, and how did Canelo become the golden goose in the first place? He's good but not good enough apparently if he refuses to take on the best of his division

Probably both events will be packed as boxing and mma each have their own fanbase ,personally I wont be watching the Canelo fight as im not that interested with Bernalgas as the opponent , If you follow MMA you'll know Noche UFC is an overall more interesting card apart from the fact its at the sphere which makes it even more special.

I was about to say the same thing. I don’t see any crossover between ufc fans and boxing fans. Boxing fans don’t go around taking about “street fights” while on their video gaming systems and drinking monsters in mama’s basement

Canelo already took on the UFC in competing cards and he blinked.
