Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez: I'm not saying Terence Crawford fight can't happen

The WBO's 30-day deadline for Terence Crawford and Sebastian Fundora to strike a fight deal isn't so straightforward. Even Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is leaving the door open for a potential Crawford matchup.

“[Crawford] is 37 years old, and Sebastian Fundora will kick his ****ing ass,” Lewkowicz said. “If [Crawford] fights the way he fought [Aug. 3], he has no shot – he will get knocked out by Fundora.”

Quite a statement from Sampson. Fundora-Crawford is one solid matchup indeed. Fundora could certainly present a major challenge than the uzbek dude TC just fought. However, its also understandable a almost 38 yo Bud wanting to get paid with Canelo.

Canelo VS Bud should happen. Canelo feels this fight will be a walk in the park. Bud thinks he can win. Let's see who's right. This can be a big moneyfight. A buzz generator - the kind that transcends your hardcore boxing fan base.

Lewkowiz: “[Crawford] will do everything he can to fight Canelo, and [his team] will not call me until after the fight.”

Nah. Not true. Crawford has done absolutely nothing to get the Canelo fight other than use his name to divert the attention away from Ennis, and now Ortiz and Fundora, Crawford hasn't contacted the Canelo team, PBC, or whoever represents them.

I bet Crawford can't even do what Andrade did showing up in Canelo press conferences and call him out on his face. Or how about Lara making himself look like a fool standing beside Canelo? How about Crawford just climbing up in the ring in the Berlanga post fight interview just to prove he really wants it?

Crawford ain't fighting Fundora. His escape route is the Canelo fight, though.

The feints alone from Madrimov had Bud second guessing himself and he clearly felt some pop on Madrimov or he wouldn't of continued to be biting all night.

There is no world Fundora presents "a major challenge" comparatively, he's as basic as they come and gives up his biggest advantage(s) in every fight he's had to date, bar a "lucky" punch, it's almost comical to suggest it's going to be challenging for Bud.

Fundora may seem more basic fundamentally but he def has faced better opp and you could tell hes bit more proven and experienced than an 11 pro fights Madrimov, some even thought the idea of Madrimov being competitive against someone like TC was 'comical' but we already saw how that went. Lot folks also thought Fundora had nothing for Tim, well what else can I say...

You are wiln with that thinking . Bud is a former 135er . I dream too that I can jump divisions and beat everyone up . Canelo has already lost so it wont show us anything if Canelo loses. If Crawford wants the fight so bad why doesnt he ko fundora. The big money fight is Canelo vs Benavidez. Crawford is gonna beat Canelo ? A guy that took on GGG. I understand he wants the money that's it though

Canelo probably planning on aging him out and fighting him when he's 40.
