Canelo now has 3 tough opponents lined up for him after Berlanga which will take him up to September 2026 - winner Scull/Shishkin, Eubank Jr. then Mbilli - but if Mbilli is considered too dangerous he can fight a rematch with faded winner of Lara/Garcia.

No problem with any of those fights if he drops the belts.

ironically after berlanga canelo would have 0 mandatories in the waiting after 2+ years of having 3. he can finally do whatever without breaking the rules. i have zero interest in his future fights though.
on the other hand, all the other boxers have a belt to fight for (and their biggest payday which goes with it).

MB had problems with a one armed fighter. Canelo should take that fight next.

I've seen Shishkin fight several times and I haven't really been impressed at all. Solid, basic fighter but nothing stands out to me. He beat Sena Agbeko and Ulises Sierra by UD. It was the lone loss of Agbeko's career where he wasn't stopped. Sierra was sparked out by Berlanga in one round and Being the Bully in 3.

As for Scull, never seen him before, heard mixed reviews...
