    With half a round to go in Saturday's Christian Mbilli-Sergiy Derevyanchenko fight, ESPN analyst Tim Bradley, who'd been calling for Derevyanchenko's corner to stop the contest from the seventh round on, said of the Ukrainian veteran, with heartfelt concern and a measure of exasperation: "He needs a knockout to win. What is it, pride? Are we fighting for pride?"

      Bradley was totally invested in Mbilli being a Monster.When a one armed fighter was able to last the distance from the 4th round on he destroyed Timmie’s narrative. But ol dumb Tim doubled down afterwards and claimed the fighter he hates,Canelo,would avoid Monster Mbilli.

        I 100% agree with Bradley. And Dere is one of my favorite fighters. No point in this fight continuing.

        And Dere with two arms might’ve won the fight

            Agree 100%. These were my exact thoughts as I marvelled at Deryvyanchenko's heart and at Tim Bradley's endless inane commentary. Bradley himself was such a blood and guts warrior that it makes no sense at all for someone like him to misunderstand and dismiss the primacy of a fighter's pride in a fight - especially for a fighter who might be inside the ring for the last night of his life. Excellent article again, Mr. Raskin.

              I listen to ESPN boxing telecasts on mute. Bradley is awful.

                  Just saying, would Eric Raskin have written this same article if Derevyanchenko had been carried out of the ring on a stretcher and unconscious after the fight?
