you're right, I confused McEnroe with Bobby Knight. Both celebrated as legends while Serena Williams is called a literal animal.

I support Claressa Shields 1000% but let's be honest women boxing has limited competition and it's weak at best! I believe she not in the same era as when Layla and Ann Wolf were fighting because they could go as well, but what we are seeing isn't enough development within the sport when it comes to women. I also believe that any fighter should let your work stand out not your voice. I will say this, if Claressa were not black she would be the greatest thing since slice bread and would earn much more than her worth currently that's the sad part about her career in my opinion. The real proof of how Clarissa would be treated if she was not Black can be seen with the treatment of Katie Taylor... A fighter whom I think, is protected, has gotten gift decisions and benefitted from the shorter rounds these days. Serrano had her... also Katie lost two fights before that where she was gifted a decision.

Take a look at the number of fighters in each division. There's more fighters in each of lightweight and below than in every discussion in which Shields competes. That's 167 total fighters from light middleweight to heavyweight. There's levels to the lack of depth in women's boxing. We're talking literal orders of magnitude here. When we start talking about men's boxing, since she's declared that her accomplishments are equivalent to those of the men who have accomplished the same thing, it's even more ridiculous. It's not her fault that there's so little competition, but it IS her fault if she's going to be disrespectful of other fighters.

Shields is her own worst enemy when it comes to public life... Taking the G-h-e-t-t-o Trash talk as an asset, not really appealing looking, having a hard time putting two coherent sentences together, she's not what we call a must for promoters... I'll give her the nod for good skills and her achievement in what is a very shallow boxing niche... There are way more articulated and skillful ladies out there in other sports who had actual opposition to play against ...

I don't think it was a robbery but there was one fighter, I forget her name... and she bested Taylor. Not Serrano. I don't think it is only race, but I do think Taylor has an image, and it helps her considerably. Would she have that image if she was Black? Who knows! I don't think so.

I do think Shields like 90 percent of fighters brags... I do not think this makes her "******" or some of the other terms people use. Shields also competes in a division that does not really have the same competition as the lighter weights... I do think this needs to be said. Although strangely enough many of the all time women's fighters were in the heavier divisions.

No, hometown decisions are not based on race, but the idea of purity, the images one gets which are manufactured by the media often are. Does not mean Shields would not benefit from perhaps cleaning up her act as well. But this idea that Taylor is this incredible fighter are equally absurd. She throws a lot of junk and some good shots together, and is very competative. She is better for the 2 minute rounds, that would help punchers like Serrano immensely, she fights in an amatuer style that is very judge friendly, has this great narrative... The brawler that fought her obviously beat her... Which bugs me!!! lol.
