True Story:
When my second child was born premature with a few complications, Georgetown University Hospital had us bring her back a few times for follow-up exams rather than switch right over to the unaffiliated pediatrician. The attending pediatrician for three of those follow-up appointments was none other than Mike Tyson's wife at the time (this was in 1998) Dr. Monica Turner. We were there to give my baby the care she needed and not shoot the shee-it about boxing and get some inside scoops about one of the greatest and most notorious heavyweights of all time. Nevertheless, I couldn't NOT scratch that itch even a little bit, so on the second visit I sort of tilted my head to the side and with a little smile I said, "Ummm, Mike Tyson?" 'Monica' and 'Turner' are not that uncommon for names and maybe this Dr. Turner was a lookalike. Dr. Turner smiled back and gave me the "this is how I answer the question I get asked all the time now" look and said, "Mmm hmmm", also with a little wry smile. And that was that.

Epilog:
My daughter rallied and grew up healthy, strong, and beautiful.
Dr. Turner impressed me with her professional demeanor, attention to my daughter, and was a delightful person in the very limited interaction we had with her.
Back in those days, conventional perception of Mike Tyson was that he was a foolish and violent brute out of the ring. My tangential dip into the orbit of his world got me thinking there was more to Mike Tyson than most people realize. Now, decades later, I think I was right.

What would compel a doctor to marry a well-known THEN thug like Tyson? I mean I get the money aspect which she did get after their divorce but what else would there be?
