I hope Smith can slow his roll. I can imagine Josh doing the Ali like a bad Elvis impersonator.

Liam looks a bit porky but should have time to shift the weight, especially as he only needs to make 160. I agree with everything his trainer says, Smith is IMO a level above Josh Kelly. I think either CEJ or Liam Williams, at their best, at 160 would be far too much for Josh, so I struggle to make a case for him beating Liam Smith.

I would not be surprised if Josh Kelly beats Liam Smith 'Only because of the timing of the fight, and the questions surrounding Liam Smith's condition'.

I will agree with what certain folk are saying already on this thread? One of the excuses Liam Smith used for his performance vs Chris Eubank Junior II 'Was that he had to drop too much weight, in a short period of time. Smith claimed that he had to drop down from 190 pounds to 160 pounds over a duration of 6 weeks'.

Now? When this fight was announced, Liam Smith once again 'From my observations looks to be way over and outside the 160 pound weight limit'.

Were as Josh Taylor looks in solid condition, many months out before the fight 'Kelly is clearly giving himself the best opportunity, to exploit any tactical mistakes by Liam Smith in preparation for this fight'.

Note: Stylistically if both fighters are in solid condition, this is a winnable fight for both fighters 'We know Smith can be out boxed and skilled'.

When Liam Smith fought Anthony Fowler 'Fowler throughout the majority of the fight was actually skill for skill the better fighter. It was the endurance and pressure of Smith which eventually powered through and overhauled Fowler in that fight'.

I have always been adamant, that if Anthony Fowler vs Liam Smith would of fought at 160 pounds 'Fowler in my opinion would not of been stopped, and he would of made the fight more competitive. Anthony Fowler was skill for skill winning the fight, up until he started to fatigue badly and he was overhauled by the pressure and endurance of Liam Smith'.

Josh Taylor skill for skill has the attributes and game, to win rounds vs Liam Smith 'But does he have the durability, and endurance to maintain that level of performance for 12 rounds'.

And in regards to Liam Smith 'Can he hammer himself into condition for this fight? If Smith can achieve this in preparation for the fight, then maybe he is the slight favourite for the fight'.

To conclude: Both Chris Eubank Junior and Liam Smith, had reasons for their performances against each other in their two fights 'Chris Eubank Junior for the first fight, was in my opinion chronically effected by the previous training camp he had in preparation for his fight vs Conor Benn'.

Chris Eubank Junior has never been a fighter, who has weight drained himself to a extreme level 'But for that fight camp, that is precisely what he did. Eubank Junior adhere to the weight limit of 157 pounds, and after the weigh in? Eubank Junior could weigh no more than 5 pounds heavier than the 157 pound weight limit'.

My belief was that, Chris Eubank Junior was suffering from the negative chronic effects 'Of weight draining himself, and training for the Conor Benn fight prior to fighting Liam Smith I'.

Never before in Chris Eubank Junior's career, had his durability and even stability appeared so under-par 'Liam Smith is a solid puncher, but Chris Eubank Junior has fought many more physically stronger and more powerful punchers than Smith in his career. And he has always displayed a solid level of durability'.

If Liam Smith can get past Josh Kelly, then I expect him to pursue the third fight with Chris Eubank Junior 'Smith has already been a World Champion, so in my opinion? He is not prioritizing winning a vacate World title somewhere, over getting some potential payback vs Chris Eubank Junior' etc.

I don't know why this concluded 'Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 08-19-2024, 10:31 AM'. Because one thing you don't do is edit, ever. If you edited you would take out the quotation marks in entirely inappropriate places, not repeat the same point about CEJ being weight drained in 3 different paragraphs & not refer to Josh Taylor having the attributes & game to meet Liam Smith. So far as I'm aware no-one has suggested Josh Taylor put on 20 ib to fight Liam Smith.
