  • Canelo thinks he is as big star as Tyson Fury

But he is not. He will not get 100 millions for fighting Crawford or Benavidez. Fury is a heavyweight.

How much money did Crawford get for fighting Madrimov? These guys must understand that they are not global stars. Unless if it is for a heavyweight undisputed fight, Turki will not give you a huge money.

The problem is many people on here don't realise Canelo can walk through most cities in the world and will barely be recognised. He's big in North and a Central America for sure though.

    Tyson Fury is known worldwide.

Both fighters are Global stars, but? If you really think about it 'Who has a more loyal and passionate fanbase? Out of Canelo Alvarez and Tyson Fury 'You would have to say that Canelo Alvarez maybe has a more passionate and loyal fan base'.

Tyson Fury comes from a sporting nation that is the UK 'Certain people within the UK will latch onto anyone who is perceived as a winner. But from what I have observed their passion, and loyalty can be very surface level in terms of it's intensity'.

Canelo Alvarez has lost fights before in his career 'But he still has a vast passionate fanbase and support'.

Note: People have throughout Tyson Fury's career turned on him, after sub-par performances or in the aftermath of a loss 'Even since Tyson Fury's lost to Oleksandr Uysk, where and why have his so called hardcore fans gone so quiet? Where are all these mythical hypothetic heavyweight fight threads, making the claims that Tyson Fury is the greatest fighter of all-times head to head? They have all gone, or reduced dramatically'.

Tyson Fury has benefit from being a Heavyweight fighter 'It is like a basketball player, benefiting from playing for one of the top historical teams. Automatically that player is gong to benefit from their association with the team'.

The Heavyweight Division, no matter what the talent in any era 'The Heavyweight will still always be one of the best boxing division's in the sport. Because as a open class division, it is the rawest and most pure form of competition. No weight limits, no catch weight or rehydration clauses just ? Two fighters preparing optimally with the primary objective to win'.

To conclude: Canelo Alvarez has built himself up to the level he is at now 'Through his resume, performances and individual fights. I would say that Alvarez has achieved those feats, more consistently and at a higher level than Tyson Fury throughout their careers'.

Tyson Fury is a global boxing star, but? A lot of that stardom is inherited because he is competing in the Heavyweight Division 'And being associated with other top level fighters in this era such as Anthony Joshua. Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua , those fighters without even fighting. Benefited from each other, because those three fighters were the three Heavyweight mountains of this boxing era'.

Canelo Alvarez when it comes to the lower weight classes, is the only mountain 'Since Floyd Mayweather Junior's retirement, Canelo Alvarez has been the only other boxing mountain within those divisons'.

There have been many other top level fighters in the lower weight classes divisons, World and Elite level fighters 'But no fighters that have in my opinion become mountains of the divisions'.

The Heavyweight Division operates differently, when a fighter becomes a Champion in the Heavyweight Division 'They are at the summit of the entire sport'.

Tyson Fury once upon a time in his career, has been a Apex Champion 'And instinctually people in society understand this. So more automatically Tyson Fury was always going to be transcended to a certain level, which is sometimes more difficult for lower weight class fighters to reach'.

And for me personally, I don't think this is issue 'Because as I have stated before, the Heavyweight Divisions as a open class division, is the rawest and most pure form of competition in all of combat sports' etc.

Canelo is definitely the bigger star in the Americas but AJ and Fury are much bigger in Europe, probably even Usyk tbh. No idea about the rest of the world.

Its not really just the UK though, its Europe in general. How many people are watching Canelo (or Tank, Crawford, Ryan etc) fights at like 4am in Europe?

Obviously in terms of live gates and PPV revenue the US is king though.

Canelo’s net worth is over 4 times as much as Fury’s so maybe Tyson needs to step his game up.

Tyson got a huge money for Usyk fight. He will get another package for a renatch.

Canelo can only dream that kind of paydays.
