How will they get "full control" with multiple other promoters handling the normal crap match ups as they always have?
Let Turki make the best fights while he can, before he stops wanting to take the monetary losses. He is a fan with billions, duh, that is why he isn't worried about it. He can lose millions on boxing until he dies and it makes no difference to him.
What does total control even mean? Lol. I have even heard people say that Turki will try to make boxing Islamic or some silliness?
He is putting on boxing cards and paying the best fighters to fight the other best fighters. TR and PBC and Matchroom and GB will still be around to build hypejobs who want easy fights. Turki is only making big fights. Boxing will die WITHOUT the guy, obviously.
The fact that any boxing fan is against a guy paying the best to fight the best is truly unbelievable. Guys DO HAVE CONTROL of their careers. Don't forget to put some respect on Inoue. He's been using his cash cow status to make the big fights. I'm not happy about Doheny, but hey, the guy was at least backup for Goodman, who pulled out, and the Japanese don't like to lose face by backing out of good faith negotiations. I note that the WBA hasn't stripped Inoue either, nor are they due yet, since IBF is first in the rotation. He doesn't need Turki any more than Canelo does.Comment

Do you know how billionaire shieks live? Seriously, they aren't trying to convert people to their religion or rule the world. They live incredibly pampered lives and they buy what they want. Turki doesn't care about subjecting anyone.
To answer your question, Turki is like a kid who can buy basically anything and he is bored. So yeah, he is playing a game and putting on the fights he wants to see. He is an old school boxing fan, he knows the history and he, as a fan, is sick of seeing the sport die.
He is exposing alot of BS. That is for sure.
BIllionaire sheiks don't need to rule the world or own the entire sport bro. He is bored with video game boxing and so has gotten involved in real life.Comment

I like the cards we have been getting recently and I have enjoyed watching the match ups that Turki has been financing. I am not sure exactly what his agenda is but I know many people have speculated his ulterior motives on this forum. I appreciate what he has done so far, but my skeptical mind does not know how long he will be allowed to keep doing it.
One thing I do know - nobody has bottomless pits of money they can afford to keep throwing away forever. You cannot be overpaying these fighters forever and keep loosing millions on every major card. Why do I assume Turki is loosing money on every card? Because no other promoter is doing what he is doing. We are not hearing anything about ppv numbers being crushed and live gate being sold out at premium prices weeks ahead of the card. So if guys like uncle Bob are not doing it, it means the shows are not making money. How much are they loosing? God knows.
Whomever is financing Turki (I am assuming it is his boss) will eventually have enough of this boxing thing and will likely pull the plug on loosing money by the truck full every time an event is staged. I don't know how long is their patience, but I fear it will eventually run out and then we will be left with a whole bunch of primadona's demanding exorbitant purses that no promoter can meet.Comment
