Over here in Limeyland the only chance we'll get to see this bout is next Saturday, when it's broadcast on a week delay on small satellite station SS1. Any fight that involves Don King seems to be priced out of what the UK buyers are prepared to pay. Which, considering his last headlining show involved John Ruiz and Kali Meehan, might not be considered a bad thing, but choice is nice.
But even taking that into consideration, all the talk and discussion of two flyweights is perplexing in a country where boxing is even more of a minority sport than it is in America, and the average man on the street still reminisces back to the days of Benn/Eubank for the last great era of boxing TV. As for Barrera, he seems to straddle two eras, as those that would have heard of him over here (and I'm talking more general public than boxing fans, obviously) would remember him as the guy who beat Hamed more than anything else.
In fact, I only know two other people that follow boxing...
Umm... what was my point again?
