Top bloke, Chris. Spoken to him a couple of times and he’s salt of the earth. Good to see the Afrikaner saffa getting out at the right age. I do hope he has put some aside and starts a business or has something lined up. Perhaps he can be the next great saffa trainer and develop talent on his country
Decent fighter not quite world level but not everyone can be but still had a decent career and fought anybody they put Infront of him.
We need to get off this “world level” shtick. This is why boxing is a dying sport. Between 10 and 15% of amateurs make it to the pros. Of that, a minute percentage ever reach world champion status. And even further from that your common sports fan cannot name 3 pro boxers they even would recognize. If you aren’t hitting top 10-20 you’re living poor. Most have to sc r a p e by with primary jobs unless they have that promoter that pumps thousands into them while you live under their roof until you make it big.
Well done to Chris on a very good career, all the way from here in South Africa.
He had excellent stamina, always in good condition. He may have not been competitive against the likes of Benn and Ennis, he did well and is a credit to the sport.

Boxing needs a complete overhaul.
Oh yeah definitely were I'm from there's plenty of small hall shows where fighters stay pretty much there whole career and only a few build themselves up to that next level and don't have the promotional outfits backing them. But I like said not everyone is world level only a small percent on that's why it takes talent to get there or have someone guide you there..
