Robert is easily the best trainer in boxing today but the media will never say it.

Robert is great with the pros AND kids

He can help established pros and turn children into world champs

he’s improving with each iteration of the blueprint

Jacob "Panda" Najar, trainer of Angel Ayala, Kevin Gonzalez, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Subriel Matias and William Zepeda.

Though Matias and Panda just departed quite recently after his latest loss.

I was listening to Robert's interview after the Vergil Ortiz fight. He was very realistic and down to Earth. He said all rounds were close, so he urged Vergil to earn the victory in the last three rounds. He said it was a tough, brutal fight and that it would take Vergil some time to recover his body before he is ready for the next fight. There was none of the bs or bravado, crying or complaining you hear from others. I like him a lot.

Alot of trainers that are recognized just have a great student. Ive watched this sport for 4 decades. You can take a great trainer and give him a average fighter and you get nothing but average out of him. What really makes a good trainer is the ability to IMPROVE a fighter. All coaches should understand fundamentals but its so much more than that. I see few great trainers now a days.
The best was Emmanuel Stewart & Cus d’Amato. Today id say Sugar Hill, Loma’s Dad & even though Im not fond of Tank. I think his trainer (Calvin Ford) is damn good. Tank has improved drastically over the last 5 years.
