Danny Garcia is going to take a helacious beating. He's going to get sniped to death if Papa Garcia doesn't throw the towel.

Thanks for telling us. I have ZERO interest in that fight which is a retirement gift to Garcia. He hasn't fought in over two years and never as a Middleweight. A typical WBA disgrace.

It's no gift at all. Unless it gets stopped early.

Had no idea Bakhodir Jalolov was in the Olympics, I was just wondering where the heck he's been.

jalalov is mentally weak, a real coward. he lost against joyce and turned pro at a good age but still decided to go back to the olympics in 2020 to bully kids without experience in order to win a gold medal. okay let him be. but then he decides 4 years later as a 30 year old men to aviod all the real action that currently goes on in the pro heavyweight game to yet again go and bully some kids??? this guy is the biggest emberessament in boxing history. he is pro for 6 years has 14 fights 14kos why is he not fighting bakolie or zheng? DDD is younger than him and fights AJ but still gets all the hate but this bully gets praise for getting two gold medals. he a coward ducking real fighters

You would have made a good point if the guys he was fighting weren't all themselves in their mid to late 20's, hardly kids in any aspect.

But I agree that Jalalov should focused on the pros and not weird about medals at this point.

This is news to me. It’s disgraceful. I’ll never understand why the IOC decided to allow pro boxers to compete with amateurs. I recall that Manny Pacquiao considered repping his country at the Olympics. So glad he didn’t.

Cuba sent her fewest athletes to these Olympic Games since Tokyo, 1964. Until Alvarez, the country was in danger of not having a gold medalist in boxing for the first time since 1968 at Mexico City. Several athletes have defected in Paris. A previous Cuban defector, the wrestler Yasmani Acosta, won a silver for Chile in the 130 kg Greco-Roman class — that country’s first ever wrestling medal. In a strange twist of fate, Acosta lost in the gold medal round to his mentor and former training partner: the now-mythical Mijaín López. López is the greatest Olympic wrestler of all-time, winning five gold medals in as many games, and in the conversation for greatest Olympic athlete ever. All this said, I think Cuba’s best days at the amateur level are behind her. Where boxing is concerned, I’d rather have our athletes go pro anyway.
