If Paulie was in Bud's shoes he would never think of a rematch. If you are 1 or 2 years away from retirement, what is the purpose of a rematch? You want to collect the other titles, make more money for a very long retirement, secure the future for your family and ride off into the sunset as a legend of the sport. The only people crying for a rematch are Madrimov fans or people who hate Crawford because he beat up their favorite fighter in the past (most likely Spence). Nobody on this forum, if they were in Bud's shoes would go for a rematch because when it is your life, that proposition does not make any sense. Also nobody would fight Boots either. That does not make any sense as he has nothing to offer legacy wise or money wise. He does not have a belt at 154 and he is not a major draw card for PPV. In 10 or 20 years time, nobody will remember that Crawford beat Madrimov in a rematch or that he beat young lion called Boot Ennis and nobody will care. But if he is successful and wins an undisputed title at 154 everybody will be comparing him to Mayweather and arguing who if the best fighter ever.

Madrimov deserves the rematch for how well he performed, but I can't see Crawford eager to revisit this anytime soon. Nor would I watch it, lol. I don't always tune out before the main ends. Either I'm super tired or just know where the match is going and that means to a decision. This was one of those. I think I tuned out around rd. 9 or 10 and it felt like one of those movies where you just wanted it to be over so you could walk out of the theater.

This is silly. Madrimov went into the fight bragging that Crawford couldn’t take his power and spent the actual fight doing a bad imitation of Dmitry Bivol with all the feinting and scattered bursts of offense. I’m not anxious to see Madrimov fight anyone, much less Crawford again.

That's because Ortiz has a tough fight this weekend coming up i see it like a 50/50 fight so if he wins that fight let the talks begin

Very good point. I wonder how many people on this forum who are crying about a robbery and demanding a rematch would actually pay to watch Madrimov fight again? I mean pay good money to watch him fight anyone. I wouldn't pay even $10, not because I hate him or think he is no good. Quite frankly watching that herky jerky style constantly jumping around, threatening to do something without ever launching an offense beyond single shots was very annoying after a couple of rounds.

I was not too excited about the match Saturday, was looking forward to fights on undercard more, so probably does not make sense again, boxing is a business and a rematch is bad business

No he definitely should not. Styles make fights and that guy is just awkward and would be for anyone but Bud would be even better prepared the second time and beat him a lot more decisively. Not to mention he’d probably be fighting in the gloves he actually wanted to. Anyone that’s fought knows that can make a huge difference.
