You may have a point because since moving over to the PBC Canelo hasn't fought or done shit. He has fought very weak opposition in Mell Charlo, Jaime Munguia and now Edgar Berlanga.

Al Haymon would have to be a damned fool to give Saul Alvarez a large sum of guaranteed money up front plus percentages. When he is no longer fighting the fights that us boxing fans want to see.

So let him bet on himself by using his alleged star and drawing power to earn his pay based off the percentages the fight grosses like everyone else.

Cotto fought Yuri Foreman and Alfonzo Gomez.
You and I know its a business now. No need to write a whole paragraph about it.

and yes youre right, people will shell $90 for it because the weather will be nice in September and Mexican food with beer always hits the spot while watching sports.
Or those same people may say, “Its a nice September Saturday night. Why am I gonna stay stuck in a house paying $90 to watch a crappy Canelo fight when I can go to my favorite Mexican restaurant, sit on the patio, listen to a great Grupo Firme tribute band, buy $90 of food and drinks and find out who won the fight in the morning?”

That sure sounds like a better evening to me.

Yea he does cause or else he wouldn’t of hung around his dressing room when he fought Kovi waiting for that card to end

He's had five fights in the last three years and he has zero stoppages. So yeah, he never stops anyone anymore.

And after watching boxing for over 40 years, I can say with no reservations....the fans that talk about the "sweet science" and "hit and don't get hit" have ruined the sport. The casual fans who want to see two guys beat each other up, battle and see blood and knockdowns.....they are the reason the boxers get paid millions.

Canelo is massively overhyped, built his career off gift decisions (payoffs), rehydrating 25 pounds on fight night and beating far smaller guys, and beating guys past their prime. He is a very good fighter with a legendary chin, and also his skills are overrated and he is nowhere near an all timer.

He is a product. And over the last few years he is nearing the end and making payday fights. Great. Just stop with the chasing greatness **** and vacate, let the best fight the best.

Googled to see who it was from UFC. Honestly I would rather watch Sean O'Malley over Camelot vs another no hoper.

I don't get how they make money on his fights. 35 million against a guy with no fans and guaranteed decision win for Camelot while he ducks David benavidez.

At least UFC has better match making

Difference being Floyd has a legit top 10 resume, went undefeated and he had all timer skills.

Cotto was a warrior and had wars. Earned every penny in the ring and is a legend.

Canelo earned a five year retirement tour based on what? Getting beat up by Bivol? Aging GGG out and then robbing him via almost certain ODLH judge funny business? Then robbing him again?

Or maybe getting whipped by Floyd?

He isn't in the league as the guys you mentioned in terms of actual boxing history and fighting. Money wise, sure. There are alot of dumb people willing to throw their money away on an arrogant little overhyped jerk. It's a free country. But let's not act like Canelo was some phenom.

Honestly, I don't think the delay was to gain more viewership or money. People who are didicated to watching both would just watch one live and the other rewound right after.

Also, the boxing and UFC demographics are different. You'll have the majority who will only watch one and ignore the other or a small percentage that really care to spend money to buy and watch both. (realistically who do you think is paying for both in times like this or ever)

So I think the delay is really just to cater to the potentially small percentage that want to watch both.. I myself don't care about UFC so it's all boxing for me and hope they won't delay the fight.

Well, we agree on one thing. I think Canelo should vacate all his titles, or better yet simply retire. This will force other fighters to create a path of their own rather than whining and complaining, and begging for a magical Canelo payday. The fans who appreciate boxing skills have not ruined the sport. What does "overhyped" even mean? Most of the time, fighters, pundits, analysts, and others mention Canelo to make themselves and their fights relevant. Is that what you mean by being overhyped?

Judah- had literally lost to Baldomir the fight before the Gayweather fight.
                      Baldomir - lol
De la Hoya - old Oscar beat his ass and got robbed, Gayweather ran from a rematch
Hatton - fought Hatton at a higher weight, Pacquaio beat Hatton way more impressively
Mosley - Mosley was old and shot and off his roids.
Cotto - Pacquaio beat him more impressively is all I have to say.
Ortiz/Guerrero/Berto - lumping these three C/D-listers together, you morons want to cry about Berlanga/Ryder, but praised this nonsense.
Maidana - Maidana won the first one, Gayweather had to pay for the second win, (ref, judges)
Pacquaio - Gayweather fought Manny 5 years too late, you F L omos are right now crying about Canelo/Benavidez, which has been about 2.5 years, yet were praying Pacquaio/Gayweather never got made, making excuse after excuse as to why that fight should NOT happen.
                      McGregor. LOLLOLOLOL

                      Top 10 resume my ass.

also you crying about Canelo not getting a KO, when was the last time Gayweather had a KO? Sucker punch against glass jawed Ortiz? F uck outta here boy.
Knowing your deep bias, I understand your point. I am truly not biased on any certain fighter. I never cared for Floyd personally. But he is a consensus top 20 all time fighter and he was incredibly skilled. Pac is my all time fav fighter and I rank him above Floyd all time. And yeah Pac beats him if they fiught when they should have.

And I agree with the KOs. But that said Floyd was often fighting guys bigger than him and he won. He created the bad guy shtick to sell ppvs.

Canelo is not in the Floyd Pac conversation IMO.
