CBS has stated that he's willing to fight Jai, but not until October. I suggest Jai either waits or throws the gauntlet down to Zurdo or Gevor!

BOXXER has precious few stars, so I'm expecting them to be careful with CBS. If Opetaia just so happens to destroy him, then what other ticket sellers do they have?I like CBS but I doubt his team wants the Opetaia fight right now. Most likely an easy (or physically brutal) way to lose that WBO strap.
From an economic angle, it might be worth it to milk a domestic fight first...he could fight Massey who's ranked #13 by the WBO.

Well, if CBS people want to buggerize around with a genuine offer made from the Saudis', I'm sure Turkie will have no problems getting either Zurdo or the WBC Champ for the undercard of Bivol-Beterbiev in October. Jai's the type of fighter who would back up for the December Riyadh undercard for Fury-Usyk II id uninjured. Perhaps if CBS promoters have the guts to sign a contract Opetaia might have to wait until December to get CBS, the fighter himself seems keen, I saw in a youtube interview CBS said at his age he wants his recovery time and to complete a full three-month camp for his next defense. I can't argue with that, it seems his promoters are the problem here as silence is not a good option. Just say yes, no or discuss what timeframe is suitable. it's a shame as we need to see more of Opetaia, an excellent and exciting fighter who is prepared to fight regularly.Comment

I agree. If we are getting silence with all that money on the table, it only means one thing - he does not want to loose and wants to hang onto that belt a little longer.Comment

I think the fight happens. Just maybe not right away. His next fight or the one after. Think CBS said he wanted Ramirez next.
CBS only fought 7 weeks ago so not exactly taking his time.Comment
