It's not ignorant to suggest Pakistani and Indians as being largely the same people if you're referring to ethnicity. I've spoken to a few Pakistani and Indians and they feel the same way. But if you're referring to nationality, I guess, both Hamed and Amir Khan don't fit the bill. Also, this may apply to other people like Native Americans who are divided into different tribes based on culture and beliefs.
