You people have no idea what it's like to lose three British title attempts, rebuilding each time to ultimately reach world level & therefore the John Ryder disrespect must end immediately!

I think this is the simplest way to get to the core of the problem. The way Benevidez failed several times in his career cannot be overlooked, but he has done everything correctly since his shortcomings to earn a chance back. Morrell has done nothing wrong, and is a respected fighter no one would argue with as a challenge. Had Alvarez fought either of those men in-between the other fights, the drum beat of criticism Alvarez would only be from his haters, the type of "fans" that won't ever respect him regardless of what he has done. But even supporters are starting to notice the pattern since his loss at 175. This is not a career overview, as he is still active. It is not about what he accomplished as much as what he is currently doing. He is piling up wins. He has multiple titles. He has people lined up to do business with him. He has fighters dying to make an all time best career earnings.

He has figured out he can make as much fighting soft touches as worthy opponents. It is his pattern now. He has lost a belt over it. Wonder what else he needs to start losing before it changes.
