I've heard about that before, and if true it's freaking embarassing for the sport of MMA. Although I wouldn't doubt those shows are scripted.
You put an ordinary guy in with any sort of competent boxer (and i mean nearly any sort) and it's a one sided beating.
I'm only still a kid pretty much, and I remember a time last year when I sparred some adult who had only basic boxing training (about 6 weeks, few spars) and I was then about 101lbs, only 5''2 or 3 and only had 4 or 5 fights myself.
Anyway we sparred and this adult guy looked to be about 5''9-10 and a good 155-160 lbs, and I just whooped his ass completely, i don't think he landed a punch, he got frustrated and tried to bore in and muscle me around but I was too quick and just kept tagging him. I think we did 2 or 3 rounds and after that he looked emabrassed and I don't recall him coming back again.
So what I'm saying is, in boxing a kid amateur can whoop ordinary dudes asses, and if it's true pro MMA guys struggled with ordinary dudes, very embarassing.
