what would make someone offer floyd 6 million dollars.. unless they know
that they would be losing money offering Mayweather anything more, if mayweather fighting mosley.

    Mosley is not marketable. period.
Yadayadayada. Boxing isn't a popularity contest Horus. Alvarez probably draws a bigger crowd than Mosley. But that doesn't make him a better opponent. HBO and Golden Boy need to put the money up to make the fight happen. I'll bet you this fight would do a **** load more on PPV than Alvarez. I don't think Pac is beating Cotto, and we know Cotto is shook when it comes to trying to get a fight with Floyd.

      yes it does.
Because at this stage of Mayweather career. fighting mosley would be a charity fight. Because Mosley brings nothing to the table.

it takes 2 to make a mega fight. Not 1
Oscar de la hoya knows this.
      and so does Floyd Mayweather.

          Listen.
Boxers are PRIZEFIGHTERS !!! Not Animals.

This is why fights like Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Aaron Pryor never happen.
MONEY. The REWARD wasnt big enough to match the RISK.

This is why, People dont race for pink slips with bull**** cars.
This is why, At million dollar poker games you have to buy your way into game at usually 100k RATHER than it be open to the public for free.

there is no healthcare in boxing.
          Their is no retirement package.
this is a business. this is why we pay to see them fight

Professional Boxing is obviously a very competitive "industry". Every year, hundreds of fighters turn professional, and every year the people who were usually on top of the sport the previous year fall victim to new fighters that intend to take that fighters spot. The number of openings is always shrinking, and the number of candidates continues to grow every year.

What this means is, If you are on top You need to strike while your rod is hot.
And take advantage of every advantage you have, And do not take a cent less than what you are worth. Because at the end of the day, it is only you who is in the ring, and Boxing dont have social security or a health care plan to fall back on like other Professional sports leagues do.

So what they make now, is what they are going to have to live on when they are old. That is why risk vs. reward in boxing is so important.
Because boxing unlike other sports. Does not have a safety net.

SO I AGREE WITH YOU, when you say HBO and GB need to put the money up to make the fight happen. So they can make the reward worth the risk.
but they know like Most of us know, Mosley at this stage of his career is not a GOOD investment.

Ellerbe says, "The beauty of being at the top is that everyone is gunning for you. It's a reason why Oscar De La Hoya wanted to fight Floyd. Oscar is the biggest draw in the sport; however, in this boxing game, it always takes two. It always takes two to make a mega fight, one of the biggest fights in history."

So what are you talking about?

Why do you give a **** about how much your favorite boxer makes in the monetary department? That is not a boxing fan. It's called being a fan boy.
