He never went into his 2nd gear and let his chance of beating Crawford slip away.

well pre fight watching him the one thing i saw he likes to jump in / lunge in and i thought that would get him countered this fight but he was way more cautious this fight than i seen him before. which was smart for a while but the rounds were too close despite him landing more than anyone ive seen land on crawford.
then by the late rounds he gassed a bit from all his movement, and it was a bit late by the time he let his hands go, agree he should have taken some risks more earlier.Last edited by elfag; 08-04-2024, 01:07 AM.MikeyMike100 likes this.

I think his caution is what made it close. Crawford typically had his number when he committed, whereas he won rounds biding his time and picking punches.
He wasn't far off. Just a few more punches land across a couple of rounds and he's won the fight. Hard to be too critical of that.MikeyMike100 likes this.

he would have won if he had a better jab and was able to put two connected punches together upstairs

Kudos to both fighters making it out of the ring relatively safe. I saw Crawford controlling most of the fight. Madrimov just didn't throw enough punches. He has a herky jerky style but just straight feinted too much without throwing. He seemed to me to be too cautious about Bids power punches from different angles. Where does Bud go from here? I think he should continue to unify the division. Canelo is a reach too far and I don't think the ginger bread man will be too interested in the fight. 54 is the top of the ladder for Crawford imo.MikeyMike100 likes this.
