Hot Rod was robbed imo

The best thing Morrell can do is work on his long game and defense. We know his power carried over as he damn near totaled Kalajdzic a couple of times, and that man has a good chin. He needs to be active as well. Bank some rounds, earn a few more UDs, become a more complete fighter.
I rewatched the fight this morning and yeah, I kind of think Hot Rod, while maybe not robbed, was unfairly wronged on the scorecards. Morrell won, but it was a "just enough" sort of win.
EDIT: Also, work on your English. I saw some improvement in the after interview, but if he wants to be a star, he needs to break that barrier. It will also benefit him with understanding his corner's directions completely.Last edited by Joseph; 08-04-2024, 05:37 PM.Comment

The reason being that you didn't fight enough rounds, nor were you tested to any extent, so 3 rounds in almost 2 years didn't do anything for your in the ring experience.
Morrell is a champion, and he has to be prepared to fight the best in the division, if he doesn't get the rounds in, meaningful work, then it was a waste of his time.
The bottom line is he has to fight more often, especially if his fight'(s) only last a round or two, his promoter, manager, and corner have to be aware of that fact.Comment

I doubt Morell is going to fight 4 or five times a year. Not someone with that much potential to generate revenue. But they should definitely make him fight at least twice. I think he’s still a year or year and a half away before he settles into light heavy…but as long as those two Russians are there, he’s not getting those belts unfortunately.Comment

I understand that, the thing is that if you have two fights and they end early, you then have to have a quick turn around fight.
