That said it does seem that not having the height, and weight advantages are making a big difference in their fights.
Benny has returned to the 168 is what I’m reading
I think Morrell should do the same imo

        Knockdown scored for Cuban.

My thoughts are Morell got the decision and didn’t look horrible. It’s a W. Good on him.

Whether Morell had won last night via decision or stoppage, I think both Morell and Benavidez fans are overestimating their chances against Bivol and Beterbiev.

Both of them get torn apart by those two.

Morell needs time to acclimate to 175 and Benavidez would peppered silly by Bivol if he went up against him right now.

Yeah, sometimes you need a wake up call. Morrell might’ve been falling in love with his power, and he and his handlers needed a reminder that you can’t be so inactive at this level. David could’ve easily taken his first L yesterday. Can’t risk that again as he rises in the division.

            Haha

Yeah, you can’t look like a monster every time out, especially as you move up. In this case, Morrell wasn’t just going up in weight; he was also stepping up in opposition. It could vert well be that both these guys belong at 168, and that 175 is just too much. Everyone has their limitations.

I'm pretty sure he would be fighting more often in this division. Seems to me that in the lhw are more fighters willing to take a risk, after all the smw is in shambles with canelo, sulaiman and company.

I agreed with you. Before the fight, a couple of weeks ago, someone ask me in this site what was my thought on this fight, I told him that I was going to wait after the fight, I couldn't watch the fight last night, going by the comments the kid won, not spectacular but he did hurt his opponent and won first time out at 175, and he's barely 26yo with 11 fights. Hopefully he can fight 4 or 5 times a year, minimum 3 and grow into the weight. I always thought that by Spence waiting so long to fight Crawford work against him, he was already a WW and Crawford wasn't acclimated to the weight.

I doubt Morell is going to fight 4 or five times a year. Not someone with that much potential to generate revenue. But they should definitely make him fight at least twice. I think he’s still a year or year and a half away before he settles into light heavy…but as long as those two Russians are there, he’s not getting those belts unfortunately.

Spot on take, Morrell could've easily lost his 0 last night, he needs to fight more often and def needs to get back to the drawing board and work harder ,hot rod did what a gatekeeper supposed to do and gave him a proper test ,once again its proven is not HOW you fight is WHO you fight.
