Although Kalajdzic is tough, he lacks good fundamentals. He could get lucky and catch Morrell, but most likely It's going to be a tough night for him.

I don't think Benavidez would be keen on fighting Morrell. He's not afraid, he's a tough warrior, but the risk/ reward ratio is high.

Then again, if he fights Beterbiev, that's pretty brutal too, whereas Bivol and Morrell would choose to outbox him.

Morrell Jr would look to hurt him.

Maybe he did on purpose, to entice the ginger? I just kidding of course, maybe an off night in a new division, he didn't seem comfortable.

The risk/reward for Beterbiev is exactly the same. The reward is much higher of course but so is the risk. He could lose to Morrell by UD but he could lose to Beterbiev by a career changing KO.

Not sure why anyone thinks unproven Morrell makes easy work of Benavidez. Morrell gets hit a lot and he has only fought marginal opponents. He looks good against no-hopers but we still don’t know how he stacks up against top level fighters.

Honestly, Morrell needs more seasoning. Tonight, we'll learn how much more. If he dominates Hot Rod, then it's time to let him off the leash.

Wait a minute , aren't you the same guy making excuses for why Canelo shouldn't have to fight his best competition and mandatory contender ?
Anyone making excuses for fighters ducking their best competition is not a boxing fan.
It makes no sense for these two guys to fight each other now when it would only appeal to some boxing fans , versus later when it could be a huge fight that breaks into the mainstream consciousness , thereby bringing new eyes into boxing and hopefully making some more boxing fans , something that the sport badly needs. Think about it. Neither one even has a belt right now.
