I’ve never been able to accept it smh but I agree with everything you said. When he faced an elite technician he did struggle. I just think winky caught him when wink was at the top of his game and tito was on his way out. If they had fought around 2000/2001 at 154 tito would do much better and could pull out a dub. Winky was underated but he wasn’t as good as Hopkins and RJJ. God that was one helluva an era. 147 to 160 was godly. ODLH trinidad quartey Vargas Mosley winky williams Martinez Forrest Hopkins Pavlik to a lesser degree mayorga that block of time was great for boxing. Makes today suck lol

Those were men that took on all smoke. Today’s era is about protecting their coveted ZERO and matchmaking without risk.

Btw, I’ve watched the Tito-Vargas over 70 times I think. It is in my top 10 greatest fights. Both were in their twenties and undefeated.
For context, Tank is about to hit 30 and Shakur is 26 and they’re not even remotely close to fighting. WTF!

Love Tito-Vargas. That fight was brutal violence. Vargas was never the same after. Reid too. Tito’s power at 154 was just devastating

Considering that McCallum stopped Norris and was never beat at the weight, how can you rate Norris higher?

You're thinking about Julian Jackson that stopped Norris.

          Norris & McCallum never fought

          McCallum moved up to 160 & later 168 & 175

Norris stayed at 154 his whole career & won the belt 3 times & defended against bigger names like Sugar Ray Leonard, Donald Curry, John Mugabi, & Meldrick Taylor.

You’re right. I’m mistaken. Sorry. But I still rate McCallum higher. Just my opinion…….
