The sad thing is Canelo looks worst right now than he ever did at 154. His last 3 fights were cans that he was favored to fight and he didn’t come close to stopping a single one of them. Canelo is washed and he was never good at 168. He beat a bunch of email champions. But people can’t admit this because then they’d have to give Floyd his props.

Ok. I think Canelo has fought nothing but easy fights since he lost. He clearly isn’t where he used to be.
In context, that fight would never have happened. Floyd had ample comp closer to his weight and as the cash cow never had anyone not willing to fight him.
In context, the Crawford fight may happen because Canelo is avoiding Benavidez to instead fight easy cash grabs and Crawford is looking for the biggest payday he can possibly get since so many around his weight are avoiding him- although Boots would fight him.
I wouldn’t. He’s a better boxer. I watched Floyd and Bivol shut him out and GGG win about 9 rounds the 1st fight by outboxing him.
Now the weight is significant. Fair point. It may prove to be too big a jump. But this Canelo does not seem to have the same respect as he once did because of the string of weak comp following the Bivol loss.
If a 37 year old Welterweight is able to go up and beat an elite Super Middleweight, that’s genuinely one of the best wins ever I think.
As I say I don’t give him much chance, but he definitely deserves the chance to try.

Tbf, I think Crawford beating Canelo up at 168 is way better than any of Floyd’s wins.
It’s essentially like Mayweather fighting and beating Calzaghe in 2007 after he’d beat Oscar at 154.
I’d be amazed if Crawford actually beats Canelo at 168 though, I think it’s way too big of a jump. If he does pull it off, it’s one of the best wins ever I think.
Floyd started at 130 while T-Bud started at 135

I just think everything is stacked against Crawford in that fight, the weight, his age, the size, he’ll be the B side.

I’d like to meet Alvarez offline. How does a 5 ft 7 manage to fight at 168Comment

I was always surprised Floyd never fought Martinez around 2013/14. Martinez was clearly declining and he would’ve happily made 155 or whatever catchweight Mayweather wanted for the payday. Could’ve added the lineal Middleweight title, would’ve been a huge notch on his legacy.Comment

Jumping up 6 lbs is a hell of a lot less than 14 lbs. Even if Floyd did start at 130.
