Comments Thread For: Moses Itauma starting to soak up his early success

Everybody knew that Moses Itauma was too young and too fast for Mariusz Wach. On Saturday night, the 19-year-old heavyweight proved that he was also just too clever, too powerful and too technically good for the 44-year-old Polish veteran.

I like Itauma, he's doing all the right things so far, I believe he beats Frazier Clarke right now.

Over the last few years i have been concentrating on the lighter weights, but i agree he would beat clarke now, he deceptively uses angles well.

I think that Itauma is going to go as far as he wants to. He's got the tools , the size , and ridiculous speed for a guy his size. As long as he keeps his head on straight, the world is his oyster.

Very light on his feet and nicely balanced, delivers his power well. Picks his punches nicely. I’d like to see him fight someone with a decent jab and see how he handles that as he hasn’t really faced that yet. Agree he shows loads of promise.

Totally agree. Thing about this kid is, whether he may lose a fight coming up, to somebody like Frasier Clark, whomever, if he improves on what he already has nobody will touch him.

I would use the analogy of a guy like Mike Tyson getting beat by Tyrone Briggs... And then when they fight again later lol. This kid has incredible talent, his footwork, his poise.

Even against WACH he did not rush anything, went to the body properly. He has speed, is smart... The whole package

His competition is actually a red herring. He may well lose a fight coming up. But if this kid takes the skills that are empirical and observable in the ring, gets a little older, a little more experience and gets better? I don't think anybody can touch him for a while at least.

This kid just need to stay focused and grounded and he’s got great potential to be a heavyweight hopeful or champion at some point! Power, aggressive and young all special ingredients to make it to the top.
