It will be interesting to see how Hearn navigates this promotion. It’s clear he wants to promote Canelo again but for this fight he’ll have to hype up Berlanga’s chances. How’s he going to do that without saying something - however innocent - that gets under the diva Canelo’s thin skin and makes him hold a grudge against Hearn? For
all his boxing skill, Canelo seems like a hair-trigger,
volatile guy who’s not the brightest crayon in the box.

Canelo has been one of the top fighters of the last decade and I'm amazed that some people don't appreciate this .The only trouble now is by clearly avoiding a match up with Benevidez and talking of fights with much smaller guys like Crawford and losers like Burbank Jr. he is on his way to blowing some of the good he's achieved. Berlanga is okay but it's not what the fans know as the best fight at the weight ...by far!

Canelos choices of opponents recently are really disappointing. I feel like his drawing power is going to start to suffer soon if he carries on with these underwhelming fights.

Man I used to have so much respect and admiration for Canelo Alvarez. I have to say no other fighter has been so high on my respect list to drop so far as he has. This has to be the most blatant duck job in the history of the sport. At this point even if he does fight him I have nothing but disgust for this type of BS. When the public asks for a fight and that opposite fighter is clearly THEE #1 challenger and you're holding/hoarding all the belts and you just keep fighting other guys you're nothing but a sissy ass *****. The dude is ridiculous and I hope nobody buys this BS and everyone steals it if they feel the need to watch. He's become an absolute charlatan.

Berlanga arguably lost vs Steve rolls. He legit sucks, He is not even a legit top 10 SM. They all beat him imo. This is an awful fight even excluding Benavidez. Ryder probably beats him.

Canelo has earned the right to pick his opponents but it's not a good look for him. Berlanga is a hype job who is going to get punished in this fight.

                  PPV for this?
Really? SMH the fight is happening at all, but PPV?

                  Here's a wild fantasy prediction:
Since Canelo is now obviously all about the easy money, he carries Berlanga for all 12 rounds and carefully calibrates his performance so as to lose a narrow split-decision to Berlanga.
Yes, I predict a Canelo loss. Engineered, of course, to set up a "dramatic" rematch of "epic proportions", wherein Canelo, of course, redeems himself by KOing Berlanga, wrapping himself in manufactured glory, and announcing his retirement just in time to avoid the real heat from worthy challengers (you know who they are).
I'm no conspiracy theorist but it COULD happen.

I absolutely hate the Berlanga fight. Hard to believe that anyone would pay to view that event.

After the first solid punch lands, Berlanga goes into a shell!
