They never planned to fight Lubin. That is whats known as a loss leader in the used car business. Just a name to attract attention. Look for Tim to fight a blown up lightweight next.

Anyone know what is wrong with Lubin ? If I'm advising Tim , I'd have him take one or two quick stay busy fights and then shoot for the winner of Fundora vs Spence. I think that Tim beats either one and is then nicely positioned to unify versus Crawford. I don't see the Crawford / Canelo fight actually happening. It's a lose. / lose situation for Canelo. I believe that he'd beat up Crawford and get zero credit for it . Losing to Crawford would be terrible for him too. They are around the same height, but Canelo is naturally a lot bigger guy than Crawford.

Why couldn’t Tszyu fight Vergil Ortiz in August but now is planning to fight in September?

Because August is before September. He wasn't going to be able to get any sparring in before the Ortiz fight. Apparently the Doctors are now telling him that he will be able to spar in August to fight in September. It wasn't the fight date versus Ortiz causing the problem with the cut , it was sparring ahead of the fight that was too soon.

Completely agree. i think a fit Tszyu beats everyone at 154 not called Crawford. He would’ve flattened Fundora had it not been for the cut.

Crawford isn’t going to 168 for Canelo unless the Saudis front an astronomical amount of money. The best fight that can be made at 154 is Crawford Tszyu once they’ve beaten everyone else between them. Hardest obstacle probably Ortiz but even the. expect both to beat him Spence is done and just on a money grab, his career at top level is done as we’ll see in the Fundora fight.

It wasn't up to them , the fight was mandated as an eliminator. As if Tszyu would be worried about fighting Lubin. Lubin would probably get medically retired after the beating Tszyu would put on him.

Whats up to them will be smaller and older. They can never get a contender, but they can always find a scrub. If Tim was serious, he would go get a title like Paro and quit trying to lure no hopers to Australia.

I don't keep up with the Alphabet Soup , but I know that Fundora is fighting Spence for two of them and Crawford vs Madrimov is for one also. There are lots of people who just look for easy fights. Tim Tszyu does not seem to me to be one of them. Who else signed to fight Vergil Ortiz for no titles ? Ortiz is as dangerous as it gets. Ok, I looked it up , Murtazaliev has a belt too but he won't fight in Australia where the fight would make a boatload of money. So if Tim is looking for a stay busy fight , what opponent would make you happy ?

For my part, there's this guy named Jermell Charlo who claims to want back in the mix, and Tszyu in Australia would be a nice bag for him too. He doesn't have a fight scheduled either... Another guy with a name would be Xander Zayas.

I doubt either of those guys would risk a belt-less Tszyu, but those would be fun.
