He's not a boxing fan. He's a fan of another man. Everything else is secondary to his love for another man. Once you understand that, the excuses, lies and mental gymnastics start to make sense.

"Benavidez said mean things about him and he doesn't want to reward him with a payday". Proceeds to say he'll fight Benavidez for 150-200 million which would be the biggest payday Benavidez has ever dreamed about.

Everyone, including this dummy, knows he's terrified of losing to Benavidez.

Unless...Benny pulls out a miracle out his ass and beats the winner of next October's LHW showdown, very unlikely yes, but lets say Benavidez actually beats Bivol or Beter , now he'll have something to put on the table to attract Canelo and thats the LHW belts along with the possibility of a 5th div championship. Talk about leverage.

You misunderstand me friend. I am not saying Mexicans don't want to see a Canelo v Benavidez fight. I helll I do! What I said is that Benavidez has a small fanbase. That is true in the U.S. as well as Mexico. Just look at the PPV numbers. This guy is not a draw. The only time he gets attention is when he has Canelo's name in his mouth. His so called fans are principally Canelo haters. I get it! Hating Canelo is a cottage industry. It get lots of attention and makes money for pundits, youtubers and jounalists. Many people for many reasons what to see Canelo get his comeuppance. Hey it is free country people can talk smack and hate all they want, but I have seen this scenario play out many times in the last 10 years. Canelo is ducking X. Canelo fights X then he is cherry picking (undefeated champions nonetheless) The "Mexican monster" is a good fighter, but in the end he is simply a plodding weight bully. I have seen greatness and Benavidez is not it.

Golovkin had horrible PPV numbers prior to fighting Canelo and the first 2 fights they did was over 1 million. Canelo vs Benavidez will surely do around that number. Canelo's numbers have been going the opposite way......

Canelo was a weight bully at 154, so what? Every fighter is essentially a weight bully since they all cut a bunch of weight. There has not been this much hype around a Canelo fight like this vs Benavidez since the 1st Golovkin fight.....this is a legacy defining fight and Canelo is further tainting his career by avoiding Benavidez.

We might see things differently, but it comes a time when blue is blue and white is white, don't you think so? I just going to ask you a couple of questions, and please answer them the best you can.
why canelo waited so long to fight ggg?
Why did he let the bivol rematch expired?
Why he never gave Lara a rematch even though he looked like crap and hit nothing but air?
Why he refuse to fight his mandatories benavidez and Morrell jr?
If he doesn't fight them, why not vacate and keep making money fighting no hopers? He is not getting any credit for it. After all he is holding the division down. Don't you think it would be better for boxing, if he just fight whoever he wants and let the younger fighters make a couple of bucks fighting for the belts. Every real fan would be thrilled if he just let's it go. Then we can have Morrell Jr vs benavidez, Iglesias vs mbilli, shiskin vs Scull, any combination of those six is 100% better than canelo vs ryder/ munguia. What do you think?

I agree with this. I don't think he's scared of Benny but scared of losing another fight.

The fact that he demanded that amount of money and said he offers nothing but an extra 25 pounds says to me he sees that fight as much more challenging than the ones he has been taking and is worried if he loses another fight that his future earnings would be seriously diminished.

Benavidez should use this whole experience as a lesson to not burn your bridges and be more respectful to someone clearly in position to call the shots.

No more *******, no more missing weight, no badmouthing people who you need more than they need you.

Really think Benavidez thought if he made a lot of noise, then Canelo would cave like he did with Golovkin. Difference is, Golovkin had a bigger following and more money on the table than Benavidez. Plus, this was before Canelo solidified himself as a HOF and possibly ATG.
