David “Duck “ Benavidez ! He knows he’ll never beat Canelo at 168,now he’s waiting again ! And with his terrible ppv track record he’ll have no leverage with the Bivol Beterbiev winner . He’ll fight wherever they say, not necessarily Vegas. All he had to do was tell the WBC I want my mandatory enforced with Canelo but NO he ducked ! Handle the Truth haters

You misunderstand me friend. I am not saying Mexicans don't want to see a Canelo v Benavidez fight. I helll I do! What I said is that Benavidez has a small fanbase. That is true in the U.S. as well as Mexico. Just look at the PPV numbers. This guy is not a draw. The only time he gets attention is when he has Canelo's name in his mouth. His so called fans are principally Canelo haters. I get it! Hating Canelo is a cottage industry. It get lots of attention and makes money for pundits, youtubers and jounalists. Many people for many reasons what to see Canelo get his comeuppance. Hey it is free country people can talk smack and hate all they want, but I have seen this scenario play out many times in the last 10 years. Canelo is ducking X. Canelo fights X then he is cherry picking (undefeated champions nonetheless) The "Mexican monster" is a good fighter, but in the end he is simply a plodding weight bully. I have seen greatness and Benavidez is not it.

Good move by Benavides nonetheless and makes Canelo look like a BIOtch. Best move he could’ve made imo. Salumaim was never gonna enforce. The WBO and IBF are more prestigious because they actually enforce fights to happen.

If Benavidez actually kept the WBC and was one the fighters Canelo beat on his undisputed campaign, people would say he's ducking Mbilli or Bazinyan lol

    My work here is done

The reason he didn't fight Benavidez is because he can't beat a top fighter and Beni would give him a sustained beating and possibly make him quit. You are actually trying to sell "Canelo didn't fight Benavidez because Benavidez called him out"?

That is a new level of copium dude. It is almost commendable that you can actually type that and post it with a serious tone.

Canelo hardly ever fights the best...and when he does, he gets bought decisions, or he gets whipped. See GGG, Floyd, Bivol. Or he beats guys way past their prime.

    Man. Just a head shaker.
Lol enjoy watching Canelo not fighting Benavidez

Even Plant, a perpetual s*** talker outside of a little pre-fight banter kept it light

    Benavidez blew it

And no one you or anybody complain to can change that
Benny blew it the moment he got stripped off the belt not once but twice, i bet he still regrets that for sure.

In this case Benavidez, they stated that he "ducked" instead, because he didn't want to continue being inactive, renounced his mandatory position after 2-3 years and doesn't want to cut down to 168 where there is no other opposition to fight against.

Apperantly, Canelo also "earned" the choice to cherrypick, despite that the past has nothing to do with the current state of the sport, pro boxers also have their right to challenge for the title against anybody and he has to follow the rules by holding most of the belts in the division.

In the other hand, he has a mixed reception in Mexico, he wasn't that well treated in Guadalajara (his home state) against Ryder prior and even during that bout.
    Very well put.

In the United States, it seems like Mexican Americans are all in on the "idea" of Canelo. In Mexico, the public is 50/50 and that is being generous....I honestly think he has more detractors than fans here if I am being honest.

Sadly, his fans just claim you are "jealous of him" and won't listen to any arguments/reasons. Very sad case because it goes against boxing and all the past champions that have made us proud.
