I watched him at the Olympic Auditorium. I missed the KO taking my wife to the bathroom. His brother was sitting a few seats over. To keep it short. They were very high energy people.. RIP.

Met him before a fight once, guy was real cool, talked with him for a bit, think one of the Nevada commissioners introduced me to him, condolences to his family.

Quality fighter in his day. Really good amatuer fighter Probably would of won a medal medal at the Olympics if the boycott didn't happen. Shame his career was cut short at only 25 but his win over Jeff chandler was a big upset at the time especially the manner he won it. May he RIP

Richie was a tremendous fighter and could have gone further if properly handled. What TRAMPler conveniently forgets to point out is he was in over weight matches and he couldn't make bantam anymore and had no business defending that title and killed himself to make weight and it almost cost him his life, nice tribute Bruce, but your hands are dirty for allowing him into the Canizales fight and ruining his career and quality of life. RIP Richie...
