Excuse preparation. “He got knocked out because he wasn’t motivated. Tank waited until he was at the end of his career and didn’t want to fight anymore”.

I mean the evidence of Lomachenko calling out Tank 7 years ago, and throughout the last 6 years, is public knowledge. It’s not like they are some top secret documents that need to be declassified. It is true that Tank waited all these years to finally say yes to Lomachenko. There are dozens of quotes straight from Tank and Mayweather’s mouth (or keyboard) saying no to the fight or “not now”, “soon”, “end of next year”. Every year, for 6 years.

The excuse is pretty much Tank’s own fault, because it’s a real reason. And as a fan of Tank Davis, I can tell you the age excuse is way more valid than the excuse that Tank was too young and Lomachenko was too good, as that was the fear Mayweather had for his star fighter. Of the two fighters, Tank absolutely has the more pathetic excuse. It’s not even Lomachenko’s fault that Tank decided to make him wait until he’s 1 fight away from retirement. That’s Tank and his handlers own fault if he doesn’t get credit for the win.

How much credit does Marciano get for beating a 37 year old ATG like Joe Louis? It’s generally a very forgettable win for obvious reasons. Even though some argue about Louis being a top HW, one of the best HW’s entering that fight. Age and being past prime trumps where he ranked as a HW at that moment.

They’re really in here acting like Lomachenko being old at 36 is some wild excuse, and just conveniently forgetting that a prime Lomachenko was calling out a prime Tank for years. Boldly calling him out too. Not cryptically.

Funnily enough, as a huge Mayweather fan, I recognize other Mayweather fans on here. The same guys arguing about Tank fighting an old Lomachenko are the same one’s who argue that it wasn’t Mayweather’s fault that Mosley and DLH decided to call him out when they were old and that Mayweather called them both out when they were all in their primes.

You have to be consistent. Can’t just use a reason whenever the shoe fits and disregard it when you want.

I consider myself a fair and consistent fan of the sport and what ever I apply to fighters I like, I apply to fighters i’m not that big of a fan of. Tank rejected Lomachenko for 6 years, like Mosley and DLH rejected Mayweather for 6-8 years. It wasn’t Mayweather’s fault they decided to get in their past their best. Just like it’s not Lomachenko’s fault that Tank finally grew the balls to fight him past his best.

Likewise though, same guys sh/tting on Tank right now for chasing Loma after rejecting him for 6 years, argued that Mayweather cherrypicked old versions of Mosley and DLH. So basically boxingscene is one big circus of inconsistent fans with no integrity and no actual belief in what they’re debating. No credibility whatsoever. They say things based on skin color and culture.
