It's Junto Nakatani week, what do you know about him?

I just noticed recently that he trains under the brother of the late Genaro "Chicanito" Hernandez.

Rudy Hernandez who trained his brother for the most part as their father relationship with Genaro soured over time, unwilling to be cooperative with each other. Think it's interesting considering Nakatani knows how to use his long reach as a fighter and utilizes a superb jab like Genaro did.



Rudy never went pro but he was involved with the sport since he was 12 years old (40 years), he even sparred fighters like Alexis Arguello at age 15 and Thomas Hearns at age 22.

Nakatani also began karate training at a young age apperantly.

Nakatani is brilliant. But he must be careful with Astrolabio, who is rather tough and a puncher. A knockout win for Junto would be a serious statement.

Astrolabio can catch Junto cause his power is for real
If Junto can overcome the power , he probably gets him out of there on a late tko or ko

Tough fighter, not elite but definitely capable of mixing it up with Nakatani if the latter elects to do so. The Japanese should keep Astrolabio at bay by boxing and frustrating him, then - eventually - trying to knock him out. But not immediately, he could run into something by the Filipino.

Well looks like Nakatani was fully prepared and made short work of Astrolabio.

Rudy now also has a second champion in Anthony Olascuaga at flyweight, with only 8 fights under his belt too. Superb coaching by him.

Nakatani caught Astrolabio early with a perfect body shot, so we will never know how the fight could have gone in reality (though I was pretty sure about Nakatani winning).

In regard to Olascuaga, he showed that the beating he absorbed vs Teraji didn't do any serious damage (as I was thinking).
