With that said, Benavidez didn’t look great against Gvozdyk. Maybe Canelo will finally agree to meet Benavidez at a higher weight and beat him there.
A prime example of fans making excuses for fighters, no less a fighter who has a history of this.

      yes

based on Alvarez defense and their skill levels

it’s unlikely Alvarez would get hurt permanently from this fight

They need make this for Mexican Independence Day

Man doesn’t want the smoke and that’s ok.
I agree with everything except with it being ok. It would be ok if he were honest about it . If he said , look , I've fought everyone, but I'm older now , have a lot of wear and tear , I'm not even really a middleweight and this guy is young and huge for the weight. It's too much to ask at this point. Then he gave up the titles . That would be ok with me. Perfectly understandable and reasonable. The arrogant way that he's handled this situation doesn't sit well with me. He isn't fooling anyone except for people who want to be fooled. He doesn't want the fight because there's a very good chance that he will lose.

When you don't want to fight a guy , the excuses are endless. When you do want the fight , nothing will stop it. Funny how that works ,isn't it ?
Look I get where you are coming from, competitors should compete, warriors should right, but in boxing, it's not so simple. Canelo is on a retirement tour RIGHT NOW, why would he do anything other that what he wants? He owes us nothing, all of this crying about who he fights, or doesn't fight, is only emboldening a proud champion like Canelo to essentially say "Screw all of you, if you don't like it, don't watch"

He's ducking him like it's his job. It's embarrassing.

Here's a novel idea, if you don't like someone, beat the **** out of that person and be paid very well for doing so.

But that's not what's happening here. Alvarez is absolutely terrified of losing to this guy.

If he wants to do that, it's cool. I'm not going to watch it though. Yeah right, I always say that , then I watch the fights anyway. I'm a junkie . Boxing has me hooked . Always has , always will.
