    Shouldn't Janibek also be stripped?

Janibek never stepped on the scale, so technically he didn't fail to make weight. The fight was postponed.

In the first sentence of the article, it says he was admitted to the hospital Thursday night for dehydration and that the fight will be postponed. Normally when a fight misses weight, it implies that he successfully weighed in but he was over the limit. How could Janibek be possibly stripped if the fight was postponed? We're assuming that he was dehydrated because he was still trying to make weight...which is probably true. However, it is currently 113 degrees in Las Vegas...which means that a fighter who's cutting weight is very vulnerable to dehydration. As soon as Corelone pointed out the weather, things started making more sense.

You used Davis as an example. Davis lost his IBF title on the scale, and proceeded to fight because some agreement was possibly made between he and Fonseca. Also, the title was still on the line for Fonseca. In Janibek's example, there was no weigh-in today and no fight tomorrow. Mikhailovich cannot shadow-box for a title lol. As far as we know, Mikhailovich will still be getting his shot. Chalk it up as a Ortiz/Stanionis situation where a fighter got sick and the fight was postponed.

He's probably going to move up to 168 anyway. If he passed out from dehydration before even making it to the scales it seems rather unlikely he'll fight at 160 again.
