All the more reason the Floyd hate at that time was unjust... Floyd was type cast (so to speak) and Arum did not care less... This while Floyd fought at his best weights and was known as being exceptionally talented by real boxing fans.

Shakur is obviously nowhere near... As I said in the initial post... Abilities are a seperate issue entirely.

He is pricing himself out... But what he should do? find out where Ryan is going to be at a particular mall or so. have people film as he walks up and decks King Rye...Thyen yells out on social media that he is through playing! He should be told to resist arrest, and make as much of a scene as possible... His goal? make sure he creates waves and makes it so every self respecting promoter will state unequivocally that they will not sign him.

Then he should promote his fights, and make it obvious to other fighters that people are curious, love a train wreck and will pay to watch how the new Shakur will be in the ring... Maybe ask the Paul Brothers for help for a cut...

Yes I am kidding but there is some truth here MulaKO, let me explain: Historically John Keehan was perhaps the best Black Belt student of Robert Triase, a Karate pioneer. Triase had a rep (deserved? do not know...) as being a bit of a country boy... Keehan, a fellow White boy went into Chicago and was willing to train mi n o r it ie s. Historically? we hear of Bruce Lee and how he broke Chinese Covenants by training Westerners... But we seldom hear of our own country, where it took wars to bring back Black martial arts teachers who had been taught overseas... But many of the white pioneers did not live in cities and did not teach in cities... Keehan on the other hand was a legit Savage...

Heres the moral of the story: Most people do not know that John Timothy Keehan was in fact "Count Dante" a Spaniard born of royal blood who fought in deadly kung fu matches, and would sell his secret techniques to those with a dime to spare after buying the latest issue of "Spider man." Of course it was all BS but how did Keehan become such a success? SELF promotion!! Heb literally costumed up, (see above lol) led a bull down State Street in Chicago, promising to kill it with one blow! People of course followed! Keehan was smart. He knew animal rights people would call the cops, he would never have to actually hurt the bull!

Count Dante became one the most financially lucrative endevours. People from my generation remember count Dante and the Smith novelty company, from reading comic books as a youth... Shakur are you listening?

Not all of us are gifted with charisma or likeability, or shall we say the extreme opposite. You can be the best boxer, yet lacks marketability. In that case, you have to admit you need help. And if Shakur feels he needs Floyd, then go for it even if only for a short period of time. There are other ways to market yourself like looking for a rival in the tradition of Morales/Barrera type or Gatti/Ward, etc. You don't think of Morales without associating him with Barrera, for example, and vise versa. In essence, they helped each other out selling themselves to the public... At the top of my head Jermall Charlo/Andrade would have been lucrative for both fighters, but Charlo wasn't looking long-term, but a quick shot at a money fight in Canelo, then retire. Rivalry doesn't necessarily mean something negative. Gatti and Ward became friends for life...

What do they say ; even bad publicity is good publicity

Shakur seems to have smart guys around him. Linking Floyd's name to Shakurs is helping him keep his name out there and possibly a bigger signing from Hearn. I doubt Arum raises his offer by a penny but you never know.

A lot of us are still trying to figure out how Bob was able to offer what he did initially, much less raise the offer.

Floyd is just a chit disturber and spotlight fiend

I don’t agree with that. For someone who supposedly loves the spotlight Floyd sure spends a lot of time laying low.

Floyd still got Rolly Romero for a non-title first venture with Shakur. Last time he was trying to pit Rolly with Garcia.
