More power to him. Betting on yourself is a fine wager if you feel you have a "Plan B" or even "Plan C". I am not sure what other promoters are willing to wager on him, and I am not boxing business wise. All I know is with Saudi money flowing and this division he is in being so deep, it is a different world than we were living in this morning.

Good luck. Do not make a bad decision.

Brings nothing to the negotiating table..boring defense 1st style and below average power. Not even an ignorant trash-talking idiot of a Father to get attention by causing controversy ala Teo/Haney. Casuals not interested. Should have taken the 15 mil.

Stevenson was wise to turn down a low-ball offer. Stevenson, if he keeps winning, is two to three fights, or less away...from a showdown with either Tank, Loma, or Cruz. $15 million is a nice amount, but Shakur will only keep approximately a fourth of the money - taxes, sanctioning fees, management, etc ..will get the rest. Arum was basically giving Stevenson a $4 million contract - that's $800,000 a fight.

Stevenson is taking a huge gamble, but I believe he's worth more than what Arum offered.

Hopefully, he'll sign with a promoter that can elevate his stardom, and pockets.

Boxing is a cruel and corrupt sport.

I believe that Lomachenko would prefer to fight Stevenson than Davis if all things were equal "money". Also, I can't see Lomachenko taking a "ass whooping" from Stevenson. I can see Stevenson taking a loss.

this delusional idiot & his fans talk lot of mess but he could't even put away an UNKNOWN D level fighter last night... he should take the 15 million & retire quietly instead of making a bigger ass of himself

While I agree that Loma would rather face Stevenson over Tank...

Loma turned down Stevenson in the past for a reason. It's not because he was afraid he'd beat Stevenson.

Folks call Stevenson boring, and a non-draw, but Stevenson is currently in the bind that he's in, because his promoter could not get him the big name fights. Loma, Haney, Pitbull, and Frank Martin all said no....for whatever reason.

And I get it, Stevenson looked terrible against DLS. But he looked great against Herring, Valdez, and more. Top Boxers that have seen his better performances know Shakur is a threat to their momentum and career, and would prefer to avoid him and chase a showdown with Tank...and a bigger purse instead.

The fight to make is vs Davis or Zepeda. I almost never say this - but they need a bit more seasoning - and that's down to Stevenson as he's unknown to casuals. Before a Zepeda-Shakur fight occurs Zepeda needs to build his name by fighting someone with a name - I don't know if PitBull can make a catchweight like 137 or 138 but that would make good money , say Zepeda-Pitbull or Stevenson-Pitbull.

Also, Keyshawn Davies and especially Andy Cruz are being moved waaaay too slowly. They should be in the mix but they're not

Stevenson hasn't fought to potential and probably never will but the money is peanuts. Glad he didn't get caught up in that contract
