Comments Thread For: Danny Jacobs returning to tick one last box in his career

When Daniel Jacobs disappeared from the fight scene following a split decision loss to John Ryder in 2022, many thought it was for good. After all, Jacobs had already won world titles, competed with the best of the best and made millions of dollars many times over.

Always liked Danny Jacobs, but he’s nowhere near the HOF IMO.

I dont rate Mosley all that high but he tries to win and I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Jacobs. It's been about 5 years since he's last looked decent.

And yet he's the "monster" GGG's best win lol. And arguably Canelo's second best win.

Golovkin made a record 22 defences of a Middleweight world title, that’s why he’ll be in the HOF.

Canelo is a 4 weight world champion, was lineal champion in two of those divisions and undisputed champion at Super Middleweight.

          Jacobs accomplishments pale in comparison.

Canelo, Jacobs, Lemieux, Murray, Macklin, Murata, Geale, Proksa and Rubio were all rated inside the top 10 by Ring Magazine when GGG defended against them. A lot of them were ranked top 5 too.

Keep pushing that agenda though. If Joe Louis fought today, he’d get no credit from some of you modern day fans.

That doesn’t take away from what they’ve achieved though.

Canelo has much better names on his resume than Jacobs too. I think it’s a stretch to say he’s top 2 on Canelo’s resume.

The "better names" that he actually beat were either over 35 or came up two or more weight classes. But have fun with that.
