Pacquiao-Mayweather Unlikely For 2010, Says Arum

Bob Arum and Freddie Roach are ducking Floyd Mayweather. They thought that after the two year layoff Floyd wasn't going to be the same fighter. They thought he was not draw and his PPV numbers would fail. But guess what they were all wrong Floyd came back and easily dominated JMM for 12 rounds who in two fights with Pacquiao won more rounds than he loss. He did 1 million PPV buys even though he was going head to head with UFC 103. Floyd showed why he is who he is and why he demands what he demands.

This is all posturing from both sides, both sides have pretty much let it be known they will say screw it if the deal is not right for them. The fact remains whatever the split is their piece of the pie will be much larger then what they can get elsewhere.
Arum does need to be careful though because Manny can leave him and cut him out all together is he messes for to long, so time is on Floyd's side (if they both can keep winning and fighting).
Aslong as they both keep winning it will happean but I would not hold my breath on it happeaning soon.

Another thing people need to understand is...Lets say Cotto vs. Pacquiao is a VERY competitive fight, there could be a rematch. Arum is taking 27% of Pacquiao's and Cotto's check, that's a whopping 54%. So don't be surprised with Arum making Cotto vs. Pacquiao 2.
Arum is mainly responsible for BOTH fighters reaching the moneyed status that they have. Just like he "made" Oscar and Fishmouth. But for Arum, their progressions would have been very different.
I don't know why he is being so "bad-mouthed"??

So just retire Manny because your promoter (Bob Arum) and trainer (Freddie Roach) just don't have the faith in you against Mayweather so they are pricing you out!!!!!!!

Arum (and even some people on this board) make it seem like Mayweather is crazy for thinking he should get the bigger split. I think its more than safe to say if Manny had the same type numbers Floyd has now there would be no question that Pac gets lionshare. DLT made many valid aguements in his original post but everybody only jumped on the lifestyle part. What about the rest? The rest was spot on. Also the idea that Floyd is so difficult to negotiate with is strange to me. I dont recall too many snags in any of his mega fights and they were all made fairly quickly. Thats all.

So basically Arum is plotting the reasons that Manny doesn't have to fight Floyd. Of course when this is all said and done people will say that Floyd ducked Arum.
It should be noted that Floyd hasn't actually said much on the issue. Arum and Roach have both come out and said why the fight won't have for a no. of BS reasons. I'd laugh if Floyd was like 40% of the share is cool with me just to see what BS they would come up with then.

BUT the fact that Floyd has out sold Manny with the same 3 opponents,
I think it's not unreasonable for Floyd to ask for a more bigger %.
Arum greed will make this fight happen.
numbers don't lie, and floyd has outsold pac, so he has the right to demand a bigger cut....if the fight doesn't happen, it'll be because arum refuses to do what's right, and he may also not be interesting in seeing his last cash cow defeated.
all in all, i think arum is posturing also, if pac tells him to make the fight, the fight will be made. it's not arum's decision to "not" negotiate, b/c the negotiations will be tough.
