I still have never seen a Johnny Fisher fight. He can't be that popular

Best example of all was probably Bruno, with Wardley we just love that he fights so hard because he's kinda posh when he talks lol.

The odds for Wardley vs Clarke were definitely insane, I agree there's no way should he have been favourite.
Plus, he's a crossover athlete too, right? The article didn't say it, but I remember the first time I saw him fight they were saying he was a rugby player turned boxer. Is that a pro sport there?

Was he pro? Or just college (like the American footballer from University of Alabama)?

I must not have been paying attention to the commentary that fight because I didn't actually know he played rugby but I can say for almost certain that if he did, it wasn't at a very high level. We don't really have the college sports thing here, university sports teams do have leagues & competitions but it's still in no way equivalent (no big stadia, no big crowds, no huge betting market).

We do have pro rugby in the UK and it is a popular sport where the top players can earn good money. But I believe Fisher was an amateur university player. A lot of top university players end some signing with pro clubs.
