Canelo fighting Eubank Jr is even more laughable than him fighting Berlanga.

The difference is Eubank is a big name in his country and the fight will sell out a big stadium. Berlanga fights infront of 2000 people usually. I mentioned Eubank as a possible option last year so this is no surprise. Once you understand how Canelo is thinking, and moving then all these opponents are viable. He is after easy money marketable fights. Simple. All you need to do is think up fighters who will sell and can make the weight.Comment

It makes perfect sense if Canelo's intent is to make his UK debut. If his plan is to fight Eubank in somewhere like Las Vegas, then it becomes difficult to understand the strategy. The difference is Eubank is a big name in his country and the fight will sell out a big stadium. Yes that is true I forgot that part. It has to be in the UK. The original plan for the Ryder fight was for a big UK fight to bring Canelo to the UK. Hearn mentioned it multiple times but it ended up in mexico. So this fight makes perfect sense for a big Uk event and I am sure fighting in the UK is a box canelo wants to tick off. It all makes sense for Hearn and Canelo.Comment

I didn't know the Ryder fight was supposed to be in the UK. I thought Mexico made sense because Ryder does have a fighting style that the Mexican would appreciate, and Canelo hasn't had a hometown fight since he became a household name.

History would point to MR being involved in some capacity, but Eubank is currently a free agent. Maybe MR tries to turn this into a multi-fight deal with Eubank, or maybe it's to keep Canelo happy. Whatever it is, I'm not too interested in the match-up. Hopefully the undercard is compelling.

Even in the rematch he fought a 50% Liam Smith who was coming off an injury and really in no condition to do a real camp but went ahead the fight for the money because he become the A side of the split after the win.
