Stevenson is stating that his star is rising slowly. The fact of the matter is he really doesn't have that many fights under his belt. He's not White, so he won't be a star overnight. He doesn't have the complexion for the protection. He is finally on the cusp of landing the big fights. Hopefully, he'll makes the most of these matchups.

Floyd nor, nor Canelo, nor Tank became household names overnight.

So it's all about "casuals" and racism?

Give me a break. He's boring. He can always choose to fight in a way that balances engagement and movement. But he doesn't have the power, does he?

So he can fight boring or in an entertaining way. And if he keeps fighting boring, boxing fans will keep not wanting to watch him.

It's all about casuals, racism, copycats, and a new wave short attention span generation that doesn't understand the full spectrum of the sweet science - you know....the MMA type of fan.

Stevenson has power, just ask Herring and Valdez. If you were a studier of this sport, you'd be able to tell that Stevenson is growing into a power puncher as he grows into his man's body. But you might be the type that has to be told that Stevenson is growing into a power puncher as he grows into his man's body.

I'm going to watch Stevenson this weekend. Are you? He's my favorite new boxer.

You know who else “ran” in a fight? The great Sugar Ray in his rematch with Duran. He ran the whole fight.
I'm shocked by this! But, I guess if someone moves too much, they get called a runner. Leonard wasn't going to fight the same fight he fought the last time. He fought wiser, and he kept his distance....like Floyd did against Castillo in their second fight. Ray Leonard realized that if fought differently, he'd have a better chance of winning. And truth be told, he mixed it up a few times in that rematch. He messed up Duran's head so much, Duran quit. That was a masterful performance, and probably my favorite rematch of all time!

Boxing can be a beautiful thing. But different fans prefer movement, evasiveness, angles, creative combos, accuracy, power.

It's silly and, moreover, self-exhalting to talk down about others just because they have different preferences. It shows your lack of understanding, not necessarily their lack of refinement as fans.

Calling people casuals is just a way of pointing at yourself and saying, "Look at me, I'm not a casual, I'm the real deal."

Do I have to be told anything by you? I dont think so, because just because you say it doesnt make it true.

You can put your spin on his antics all you want and say it's everybody else's fault that he's not popular. But if Shakur wants to be marketable, he has to fight. Period. End of story.

You are preaching to the choir. SRL fought the perfect guy indeed.
Guys just practice selective outrage. When their guy does the thing they dislike, they justify it or find ways to explain it.

My favorite one is asking PAC fans about the PAC vs YouTuber DK Yoon fight. They are outraged with Floyd’s exhibition but when it’s PAC, it’s whole different song.

All Bob had to do was make the best fights for Shakur.

Instead, he protected guys like Loma and then held off making a fight with the PED cheat Valdez as long as he could. Great way to build a talented boxer.

Berchelt, Valdez, Loma, my boy Navarette, all should’ve been in a row. Instead he has No names like conseaico Delos santos and yoshino.

Instead of this bum he has next, how about Bob make a real effort to get him in with Zepeda.

Let’s see where Shakur goes from here.

So, with a $700k gate. Stevenson is basically worth about a $500k "guarantee" on his contract. He thinks he's worth more so needs to go prove it!

So Lefty... A lot of individuals do indeed forget that these younger guys are growing into their man strength. There has to be a certain parity as it happens which is at times, a real crap shoot. In fact, when we look at the lighter weight classes, opponent stopping, one punch power, is truly a very rare gift.

As someone who trains martial artists, I think younger guys with power often assume they have it down because at their present weight class they experience results... Nobody trains them to assume they need to develop sitting down on their shots more, because as they get bigger and stronger, their weight class will also move up. I have seen Haney and Stevenson hit well when they sit down on their shots... But someone has to inform them, this is not enough. The rise in man strength does not, in itself, seem to give the fighter all they need to move up. We see this many times... Broner is a great example. Haney is looking like he may also have some rerouting to do, in order to fight at a comfortable weight. We saw Lopez, in his last fight have a similar problem... Even the Mexican Monster, was bereft of his usual power when he last fought.
